I’m the owner of Elite Taekwondo.
When I was a child, I began my martial arts journey and the positive impact it had on my life was remarkable. It was always my dream to someday open my own school and pass on the skills, knowledge, and inspiration the martial arts has given to me.
Now, I proudly serve the Gilbert community and feel an overwhelming sense of pride and humility when I see our students grow into happier, healthier, more confident children, teens, and adults!

Grand Master Yu Kim grew up in Seoul, Korea and has been training in Tae Kwon Do since the age of ten. During his childhood, Grand Master Kim was exposed to various traditional methods of training and obtained his black belt under Grandmaster Jae Hoon Jung.
Grand Master Kim relocated to the United States in 1993 and began his tutelage under Grandmaster Jung Soo Park in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In 2006, he relocated to Gilbert, Arizona and opened Elite Tae Kwon Do School.
Currently Grand Master Kim is a certified Kukkiwon 7th Degree Black Belt and is a member of the USA Tae Kwon Do Association which governs national athletes who participate in the Olympic games. In addition, Grand Master Kim serves as a member of the Arizona Korean Master’s Association and continues to be an ambassador for Tae Kwon Do.
Over the past 30 years, Grand Master Kim has taught Tae Kwon Do to hundreds of students and has graduated a large number of black belts. Grand Master Kim has appeared in several martial arts publications to include the 40th Anniversary Special Edition of Martial Arts Magazine. Grand Master Kim has also posed for several martial arts suppliers such as TKO Boxing & Martial Arts Supply Company.
